Job summary

Exus Renewables North America Open Roles is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting for IPP and asset management projects, review financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and produce reports for senior management.

The role requires a BS in accounting with an MBA preferred, 7+ years of accounting experience including audit, and strong leadership. Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, plus energy sector experience, is highly valued.

Qualifications

• BS degree in accounting; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years accounting experience; 3+ years in audit at a Big 4 or large regional firm preferred.
• Past experience as a people manager is required.
• Experience building complex financial reporting packages is required.
• Technical knowledge of US GAAP or current leasing standards required.
• Understanding of tax laws and government guidelines for energy investments preferred.
• Experience with annual audited financial statements including footnotes.
• Ability to interpret complex agreements for accounting treatment.
• Experience managing multiple complex activities in a high-growth environment; supervising juniors.
• Wind and/or solar energy project development experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure technical compliance for US GAAP/IFRS including derivatives and purchase accounting.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including audited statements.
• Oversee AR, AP and general accounting with dedicated client project teams.
• Ensure compliance with legal guidelines and accounting principles.
• Provide reporting packages for clients, Exus, and consolidated audits.
• Ensure timely compliance filings.
• Assist in budgets and cash flow forecasts.
• Manage day-to-day contact with multiple complex clients.
• Create internal controls and policies; provide GAAP reporting.
