Job summary

Delco Development LLC is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the accounting operations of a multi-entity real estate organization in Willingboro, NJ. This role works with the Controller to oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls across a complex entity structure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant controller role.
• Experience in a multi-entity organization; ability to manage complexity across many entities and consolidations.
• Proficiency with real estate/property management software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio) and construction accounting systems (Sage 300 CRE, Procore).
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial consolidation tools is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidations across entities.
• Partner with property management to ensure accurate revenue recognition (RevPAR, ADR, occupancy).
• Assist with cash management, bank reconciliations, and treasury functions across entities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for properties and portfolios.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting policies across all entities.
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants and property accountants.
• Assist in onboarding new entities, acquisitions, and dispositions into the system.
• Support system administration and ERP improvement initiatives (AppFolio, Sage, or similar).
