Job summary

Coda Search│Staffing is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to support portfolio valuation, fund accounting, and financial reporting for a growing client base in New York. You will interact with the CFO/Controller and external administrators to ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly close packages, NAV, and returns.

The role requires advanced Excel/VBA skills, experience with Investran, and CPA considerations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Accounting, Audit or Tax field with hands-on experience.
• CPA or CPA in progress highly preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration with management.

Responsibilities

• Assist portfolio valuations including optimization, risk analytics, and performance attribution.
• Manage fund financials as prepared by external administrator for timeliness and quality.
• Prepare monthly performance estimates, NAV packages, allocations, and fund returns.
• Prepare journal entries, trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.
• Support cash management forecasts and debt facility oversight for investment readiness.
• Collaborate with CFO/Controller on firm reporting and reconciliations.
• Review management fee calculations and daily GL functions.
• Ensure efficiencies across middle-office operations and accounting processes.

Job description

Daily responsibilities

• Assist portfolio valuations efforts including portfolio optimization, risk analytics, performance attribution, and risk/liability management
• Manage and review fund financials as prepared by the external administrator to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables
• Responsible for financial reporting process, including but not limited to monthly performance estimates, close packages/NAV, allocations, waterfalls and fund returns
• Perform financial statement preparation, cash and position reconciliations, entering income/expense accruals, preparing capital allocation schedules, and sending investor correspondence regarding account balances
• Assist in cash management forecasts and budgets along with debt facility oversight to establish capital available for investment.
• Prepare and post all journal entries and prepare monthly trial balance, balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flow reports.
• Oversight and compliance of fund credit facilities by accurately comprehending and interpreting the agreement, while maintaining a thorough knowledge of the assets in the portfolio
• Prepare daily net capital computation and daily P&L reporting
• Collaborate with CFO/Controller on preparation of firm reporting and intracompany reconciliation process
• Review management fee calculations
• Perform daily general ledger functions such as cash and trading account reconciliation
• Responsible for implementing efficiencies across all facets of middle-office operations and accounting areas.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of (Accounting/Audit/Tax) industry experience
• CPA or CPA in progress highly preferred
• Prior experience with Tax Accounting/Reporting required
• Outstanding communication skills, proven ability to effectively work with all levels of Management
• Technical skills; Highly proficient with Excel/VBA and Portfolio Accounting Software (Investran) preferred
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dead-line driven dynamic environment
