Job summary

Mission Staffing is seeking a Senior Fund Accounting / Controller-level professional to join a growing private equity platform in New York. The role reports to the CFO and spans fund accounting, financial reporting, valuation, and investment operations.

The ideal candidate brings 8–10+ years in accounting/finance, with strong PE or private credit exposure, and familiarity with audits, tax structuring, and carried interest analysis. CPA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• Private equity or private credit experience strongly preferred.
• Strong fund accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience working with auditors and tax structuring is a plus.
• CPA preferred, though not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fund accounting and financial reporting for private equity funds.
• Manage NAV close processes and review financial statements.
• Partner with external auditors and service providers.
• Support valuation processes and analysis.
• Assist with carried interest calculations and analysis.
• Work with tax advisors on fund and investment tax structuring.
• Coordinate with the fund administrator and external CFO advisory firm.
• Support the CFO and broader finance team as the platform grows.

A leading operator-led private equity firm focused on sports, entertainment, and media is looking to add a Senior Fund Accounting / Controller-level professional to its growing team. The firm has been exceptionally busy and is launching additional funds, creating a new opening within the finance function.

This person will report directly to the CFO and play a key role across the firm's fund accounting, financial reporting, valuation, and investment operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee fund accounting and financial reporting for private equity funds
• Manage NAV close processes and review financial statements
• Partner closely with external auditors and service providers
• Support valuation processes and analysis
• Assist with carried interest calculations and analysis
• Work closely with tax advisors on fund and investment tax structuring
• Partner with the fund administrator and external CFO advisory firm
• Support the CFO and broader finance team as the platform continues to grow

Ideal Background:

• 8-10+ years of relevant accounting / finance experience
• Private equity or private credit experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of fund accounting and financial reporting
• Experience working directly with auditors
• Familiarity with tax structuring, valuations, and carried interest
• CPA preferred, though not required
• Public accounting experience combined with private markets experience will be considered
