Job summary

Atlas Search in New York is seeking an Assistant Controller-level candidate with 4–7 years in fund accounting to own a large private equity real estate fund and broaden exposure beyond NAVs and financial statements.

You will oversee the fund administrator, manage capital calls and liquidity, and participate in forecasting, treasury, and investor reporting, while mentoring junior staff toward leadership roles.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of accounting experience with fund accounting focus.
• Private equity real estate fund experience preferred.
• CPA certification and Investran experience are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a large, institutional private equity real estate fund.
• Move beyond traditional fund accounting into broader finance and fund operations.
• Review quarterly and annual financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS.
• Oversee the third-party fund administrator.
• Manage capital calls, distributions, liquidity, wires, and credit facility activity.
• Review management fees and waterfall calculations.
• Gain exposure to forecasting, treasury, tax structures, fund agreements, and financial risk.
• Partner across investment, finance, tax, operations, and investor-facing teams.
• Develop leadership experience through mentoring and directing junior team members.
• Build a skill set that can position you for continued progression within fund finance and operations.
