Job summary

GrayMar Environmental Services is seeking an Assistant Controller to own the corporate accounting close end to end. You will run the close in the Controller’s absence and manage a broad set of technical and reporting responsibilities in a multi-entity, private-equity-backed organization.

You will lead the transactional accounting teams, own payroll and AP, and partner with the Controller to strengthen controls, automate workpapers, and shorten the close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Six or more years of progressive accounting experience with full monthly close.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge including ASC 842, intercompany eliminations, and consolidations.
• Hands-on ERP experience, NetSuite preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and process automation orientation.
• Excellent communication skills across teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage corporate accounting close end to end and run it in the Controller’s absence.
• Lead monthly close calls, maintain close calendar and cadence to shorten close time.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and monthly reviews, ensuring accuracy.
• Automate balance sheet workpapers and strengthen internal controls.
• Support intercompany eliminations, consolidation and acquisition accounting.
• Oversee AP, payroll, and Ramp procurement under Controller’s guidance.
• Contribute to MD&A, bank reporting, covenant compliance, and lender packages.
