Job summary

Citarella is seeking an Assistant Controller in Bronx, NY to lead the accounting close process, ensure accurate financial reporting, and drive scalable processes. You will work with leadership across sales, purchasing, operations, and accounting to deliver actionable financial insights.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical accounting skills, and deep experience with ERP systems. It is a regular full-time, on-site position with opportunities to improve procedures and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience leading month-end close and GAAP reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Oversee revenue, expenses, inventory, accruals, and other financial activity.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Produce monthly reporting packages with key metrics and insights.
• Provide financial analysis by product, category, and location to support decisions.
