D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently seeking an Assistant Controller for their Accounting Department. The right candidate will assist in managing all aspects of the division’s financial reporting, budgeting, and projections, under the direction of the Division Controller/CFO. Acts as a fiduciary, focusing on business process improvement and strategic decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Enforce operating procedures and policies established by D.R. Horton.
2. Report financial results in accordance with GAAP and company policies, adhering to deadlines and formats set by Corporate.
3. Understand and utilize the computerized accounting system deployed in the divisions to its full capabilities.
4. Maintain accurate budgets in the company’s accounting systems, reflecting contractual liabilities.
5. Support the division controller in preparing financial projections for corporate management.
6. Oversee banking activities delegated by the division controller, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise one or more employees in the Accounting Department, including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and discipline, in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or 5-7 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
