Position Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Accounting Department. The successful candidate will assist in managing all aspects of the division’s financial reporting, budgeting, and projections under the guidance of the Division Controller/CFO. This role involves fiduciary responsibilities, process improvements, and strategic decision-making support for management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce operating procedures and policies established by D.R. Horton.
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP and company policies, with reports submitted on time and in the required format.
  • Understand and utilize the computerized accounting system to its full capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate budgets reflecting contractual liabilities within the accounting systems.
  • Support the division controller in preparing reliable financial projections for corporate management.
  • Manage banking activities delegated by the division controller, adhering to company policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise one or more employees in the Accounting Department, including hiring, training, performance appraisals, and addressing employee concerns in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
