Job summary

Whitman-Walker Health is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the finance department in producing financial statements and managing general financial administration. The role oversees general ledger maintenance, monthly closures, and grant/contract accounting, reporting to the Deputy CFO in a nonprofit healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and managerial accounting experience preferred.
• Experience supporting financial statements and audits in a nonprofit environment.
• Proficiency with accounting software programs and automated accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of timely, accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Manage month and year end close, including close procedures for areas within responsibility.
• Oversee GL maintenance, reconciliations, and postings; manage grants and contracts accounting.
