Job summary

CFS in Indiana is seeking an Assistant Controller to join a mentorship-driven, multi-entity environment. This role offers close exposure to the CFO and Controller, with a clear path toward a future Controller position.

You will participate in month-end closes, general ledger integrity across entities, tax support, payroll, and benefits administration, while contributing to financial reporting and intercompany activities.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of public accounting experience or a mix of public and corporate accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong experience with accrual accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software and advanced Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
• Perform account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations while investigating variances
• Support monthly financial reporting and intercompany accounting activities
• Assist with tax workpapers, compliance documentation, and income tax accrual support
• Provide support for payroll accounting, benefits administration, banking, and related accounting functions
