Job summary

Wingstop Restaurants Inc. is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to serve as a strategic partner responsible for accounting, internal controls, and financial analysis.

The role supports growth through strong policy application, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership of the accounting team. You will oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, coordinate external audits, and strengthen internal controls to meet SEC requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced Excel and business writing skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships across functional areas.

• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all activities related to producing financial records and statements.
• Meet deadlines for closing books and preparing SEC filings.
• Apply technical accounting policies to company records and disclosures.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure SOX 404 compliance.
• Direct external audits and periodic financial reviews.
• Lead multiple projects with internal departments and vendors.
• Ensure accounting staff are qualified and capable of meeting objectives.
• Resolve accounting issues through research to balance accounts.
• Lead, motivate and support a high-performing team.
