Job summary

American Battery Solutions (ABS) is seeking an Assistant Controller to partner with the Controller in Michigan to manage accounting and financial operations. The role covers AP, AR, GL, financial reporting, budgeting, and audit support in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and internal controls.

You will coordinate audits, improve processes, and ensure adherence to IRS rules and GAAP while supporting cross‑functional teams and Komatsu integration as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum five years progressive accounting experience incl. month-end close and GL.
• Experience with GAAP and external audits preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare closing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Analyze monthly financial statements and cash flow.
• Own AR/AP processes including PO review and invoicing.
• Oversee GL management and financial reporting.
• Assist with budget prep and variance analysis.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and improve controls.
• Maintain accounting procedures and cross‑functional support.
