Job summary

Hyper Solutions in Richmond, VA seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to own day‑to‑day accounting operations under U.S. GAAP and help scale the accounting function. This hands‑on leadership role blends rigorous controls with strategic process improvements.

You will supervise the accounting team, manage close cycles, optimize NetSuite, and support audit readiness while partnering with operations and finance leadership to drive growth. Onsite with flexible work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Active CPA license required.
• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years leading or supervising accounting teams.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, with cost accounting.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, AR, AP, fixed assets, inventory, leases, and debt in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including timelines and checklists.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within NetSuite ERP.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit readiness.
• Supervise and develop accounting team members, including workload management and coaching.
• Collaborate with operations and supply chain on inventory and manufacturing‑related financial matters.
