Job summary

Sequoia Financial Group, a growing RIA headquartered in Northeast Ohio, seeks an experienced Assistant Controller in Akron, OH. The role partners with the Controller and FP&A to run day-to-day accounting, supervise staff, and ensure accuracy across multi-entity consolidations.

You will own month-end close, complex journal entries, and technical analyses, while coordinating with external auditors and advisors. A CPA and 8+ years of accounting leadership are preferred in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
• 8+ years progressive accounting experience including staff supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries and analyses (fixed assets, investments, leases, revenue recognition).
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff; provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Advisors and external auditors; support audit readiness and PBC prep.
• Oversee AP/AR processes and implement process efficiencies.
• Support accounting integration for acquired entities and scalable workflows.
