Job summary

Teck Resources Limited's Anchorage office seeks an Assistant Controller to provide financial leadership across reporting, controls, budgeting, and operational finance. This role supports period-end close, SOX compliance, audits, and governance processes from the Anchorage site.

Based in Anchorage, the position focuses on delivering timely financial information, developing budgets and 3YP plans, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in controls and reporting for Red Dog

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration or related field.
• CPA designation or licensure pursued within six months of starting.
• Four years of progressive accounting or finance experience including reporting and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills with financial modeling and data analysis; Power BI is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of internal and external financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Assist period-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate SOX compliance activities and audit readiness with stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation, analyses, and responses.
• Maintain finance reporting calendars, close checklists, and governance processes.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and long-range 3YP models with stakeholders.
• Support treasury, accounting operations, and system changes for process improvements.
