Job summary

Metropolis Technologies is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead corporate accounting operations, drive the close, and scale our finance functions as we prepare for growth. You will guide a team of accountants, partner with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Operations, and champion automation and AI adoption to improve accuracy and efficiency.

The role requires 12+ years of experience, CPA, and strong US GAAP/ICFR expertise, with hands-on leadership in a complex environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
CPA is required.
12+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership.
Experience managing teams of at least 5 people.
ICFR experience and U.S. GAAP expertise with consolidations.

Responsibilities

Own monthly and quarterly close activities with accuracy and timeliness.
Design and implement new accounting policies, controls, and workflows (U.S. GAAP, consolidations).
Drive automation and AI adoption in reconciliations, reporting, and consolidation.
Lead ERP upgrade/conversion and associated process improvements.
Build and mentor a growing accounting team (≈8 accountants; 3 direct reports).
Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Operations, and Client Reporting to ensure data integrity.
