Job summary

Metropolis Technologies seeks a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team and lead the close processes under US GAAP. You will prepare journal entries, manage reconciliations, and support external audits as a primary liaison while scaling the accounting function through automation.

We value a CPA candidate with strong technical accounting knowledge and ERP experience. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with FP&A, Operations, Engineering, Legal and Tax, and requires

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting
• Active CPA or CPA candidate
• Strong US GAAP knowledge (ASC 606/842) and SOX understanding
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely, accurate reporting under US GAAP
• Prepare complex journal entries and reconciliations across revenue, liabilities, leases, and fixed assets
• Support external audits as primary liaison; prep workpapers and disclosures
• Evaluate and implement internal controls (SOX-ready) to streamline reporting and reduce risk
• Perform technical accounting research on complex transactions and draft memos
• Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Tax on contracts and capex
• Conduct monthly variance analyses and deliver insights to leadership
• Identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI in close workflows
