Job summary

Enterprise Community Partners is seeking an experienced accounting professional to assist the Controller, Financial Reporting, with daily transactions, month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes. You will prepare reconciliations, support intercompany accounting, and help document accounting policies in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting (CPA/advanced degree preferred) and 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with strong communication,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required; CPA and/or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–7 years progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently.
  • Financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills with ability to coordinate complex activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining books and records for multiple legal entities including corporate entities and projects.
  • Prepare periodic reconciliations and analyses; assist intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
  • Support policy/procedure development; assist system implementations and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure internal controls compliance.
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and external financial reporting.

Job Description Summary

Assist the Controller, Financial Reporting with daily transactions, processes and compliance for Enterprise Community Development. Responsibilities include financial reporting and general ledger accounting. The position will play a significant role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing. This position will be responsible for completing analyses and reconciliations. The Position will also be responsible for the documentation of accounting policies and procedures. This position requires enthusiasm, excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
Job Description
  • Assist in the maintenance of the books and records for all legal entities which include the corporate entities, projects under predevelopment/development, operating entities, and the corporate general partners.
  • Prepare periodic reconciliations and analysis as required.
  • Assist in intercompany accounting and reconciliation.
  • Support the maintenance and/or establishment of accounting policies and procedures. Assist in system implementations and process improvements
  • Assist with the corporate financial reporting functions of the organization. This includes helping coordinate, prepare analysis, draft reports and other tasks; associated with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and internal and external financial reporting processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Support the maintenance and/or establishment of accounting policies and procedures. Assist in system implementations and process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required; CPA and or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting.
  • Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess strong financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills, and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines with a quality, accurate work product.
Specific
  • Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is required.
  • Advanced excel skills required, including experience automating recurring reports, reconciliations, or workflows using tools such as formulas, pivot tables, power query, macros/VBA, or similar automation features.
  • Experience developing, documenting and implementing account policies and procedures.
  • Experience in corporate accounting, consolidations and recording inter-company transactions.
  • Experience working in accounting systems, experience with Workday and Yardi a plus.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  • Ability to work under stress/pressure.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours during peak periods

The salary range represents the low and high end of what may be paid for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range, and compensation decisions may be influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
