Job summary

Enterprise Community Development seeks a Controller, Financial Reporting, to manage organization-wide accounting, month/quarter/year-end closes, and policy documentation. You will coordinate intercompany activity, enhancements to reporting processes, and liaise with external auditors to ensure robust internal controls.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting with CPA preferred, 5–7 years in corporate accounting, and strong Excel, analytical, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required; CPA and/or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills; ability to coordinate complex activities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain books and records for all entities including projects and operating entities.
  • Prepare periodic reconciliations and analyses; assist with intercompany accounting.
  • Coordinate corporate financial reporting, monthly/quarterly/annual close, and audits; document accounting policies.

Responsibilities include financial reporting and general ledger accounting. The position will play a significant role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing. This position will be responsible for completing analyses and reconciliations. The Position will also be responsible for the documentation of accounting policies and procedures. This position requires enthusiasm, excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Job DescriptionResponsibilitiesAssist in the maintenance of the books and records for all legal entities which include the corporate entities, projects under predevelopment/development, operating entities, and the corporate general partners.Prepare periodic reconciliations and analysis as required.Assist in intercompany accounting and reconciliation.Support the maintenance and/or establishment of accounting policies and procedures. Assist in system implementations and process improvementsAssist with the corporate financial reporting functions of the organization. This includes helping coordinate, prepare analysis, draft reports and other tasks; associated with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and internal and external financial reporting processes.Coordinate with external auditors for annual auditsEnsure compliance with internal controls.Support the maintenance and/or establishment of accounting policies and procedures. Assist in system implementations and process improvementsPerform other duties as assigned.Qualifications and SkillsGeneral:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required; CPA and or advanced degree is preferred.5 - 7 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting.Must be highly motivated, able to work independently and possess strong written and oral communication skills.Must possess strong financial, analytical, organizational, and quantitative skills, and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines with a quality, accurate work product.Specific:Knowledge of general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is required.Advanced excel skills required, including experience automating recurring reports, reconciliations, or workflows using tools such as formulas, pivot tables, power query, macros/VBA, or similar automation features.Experience developing, documenting and implementing account policies and procedures.Experience in corporate accounting, consolidations and recording inter-company transactions.Experience working in accounting systems, experience with Workday and Yardi a plus.Physical Demands/Working Conditions:Ability to work under stress/pressure.Ability to work evening and weekend hours during peak periodsSalary TransparencyYou will be joining a team of talented professionals motivated by serving the community and addressing the need for affordable housing.Enterprise offers a comprehensive total rewards package for you and your family. The pay range for this position is $90,000 – $110,000. The salary range represents the low and high end of what may be paid for this position.
