Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Assistant Controller in Irving, TX. You will oversee the month-end close, ensure GAAP compliance, support SEC reporting, and drive process improvements in a fast-growing tech-enabled environment.

The role requires an active CPA with 6-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including publicly traded company exposure. You will mentor the team and collaborate cross-functionally on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 6-10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience at a publicly traded company is required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate reporting.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
• Support SEC reporting and disclosures, including 10-Q/10-K/8-K.
• Ensure SOX compliance and strengthen internal controls over reporting.
• Coordinate audits and support external and internal audit activities.
