Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, seeks an Assistant Controller in Evansville, Indiana to oversee accounting operations for a business unit with more than $500 million in annual revenue. The role leads accounting personnel, ensures GAAP reporting, and strengthens internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will guide monthly closes, cash management, and audits, while driving continuous improvement and automation across the finance function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required; CPA is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive management experience in accounting and finance within the construction industry.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion, and Essbase for construction accounting are preferred.
• Hands-on approach and ability to work in a team-based environment; able to operate strategically and tactically.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills interacting with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across the business unit for all accounting and controllership operations.
• Lead monthly close for construction operations; prepare GAAP financial statements and analyses.
• Oversee cash management, banking activities, and cash forecasting to the parent company.
• Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance; coordinate with external auditors.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and productivity in the finance function.
• Maintain deep technical accounting knowledge, including revenue recognition and change orders.
• Provide timely financial insights and actionable recommendations to executives.
• Lead special projects and ad hoc initiatives as needed.
