Job summary

CLA is seeking an Assistant Controller for our CAAS State and Local Government Practice that can sit in Colorado or Utah. You will lead client accounting functions, advise on finance best practices, and manage multiple projects and deadlines with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting.

Ideal candidates have 4 years of accounting/financial experience, a Bachelor's degree, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with major accounting software such as QuickBooks, Intacct, or PeopleSoft.

Qualifications

• 4 years of accounting/financial experience
• Bachelor's degree required; combination may be accepted
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Proficiency with major accounting software (see list)

Responsibilities

• Perform Assistant Controller functions for client accounting services team
• Act as consultant to clients on accounting and finance practices
• Provide project management for multiple clients and deadlines
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and recommendations
• Maintain knowledge of client policies, federal/state directives, and accounting standards
