Job summary

JCW Group in Plano, TX is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their accounting team. You will produce standalone GAAP financial statements for the lending operating company and own the month-end close, reporting to the Controller.

This role is ideal for someone with public accounting background ready to move to industry or with mixed public/industry experience, who can handle complex technical accounting and contribute to SEC-related reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Public accounting background, ideally at Accounting Manager level and seeking transition to industry.
• Experience with complex technical accounting and financial reporting, with exposure to the SEC reporting process.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and quarter-end close for the operating company.
• Prepare standalone US GAAP financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidation across legal entities.
• Research and document complex technical accounting matters, and support reporting flowing up to the parent company.

In this role, you'll produce standalone GAAP financial statements for the lending operating company and work through complex technical accounting areas. This role reports directly to the Controller and is a strong fit for someone in public accounting ready to move to industry, or who made that transition earlier and wants broader ownership.
