We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the organization's financial operations, accounting processes, internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will partner with finance and operational leaders to strengthen financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and develop scalable best practices across the organization.
The ideal candidate will be an analytical and collaborative accounting professional who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities, and identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure financial transactions and records are accurate and compliant with applicable accounting standards, policies, and procedures, including U.S. GAAP.
- Support the Controller and finance leadership with year-end audits and conduct internal reviews to identify and resolve potential audit issues in advance of external audits.
- Analyze financial results and promote timely, accurate recording and reporting of financial information.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial systems and related data.
- Develop and maintain a framework for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and related objectives.
- Maintain centralized documentation, training materials, and process resources for accounting and finance teams.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve existing financial processes.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across finance operations.
- Evaluate ERP functionality and identify opportunities to leverage system capabilities and best practices.
- Partner with finance and business process stakeholders to resolve accounting, operational, and systems-related issues.
- Monitor workflows, priorities, and assignments to ensure established deadlines are met.
- Develop and communicate process improvements and financial best practices to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and training to finance teams and internal business partners as needed.
- Perform other accounting, finance, and special project responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
- ERP implementation or process improvement experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial data integrations, reporting tools, and dashboards preferred.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.

This position is primarily office-based and may require occasional travel between company locations or other business sites.
The role may occasionally require flexibility outside of standard business hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on business needs.
Physical Requirements
The position involves frequent sitting with occasional standing and walking. The employee may occasionally be required to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to approximately 35 pounds.
