Aston Carter in Valencia, CA is hiring an Assistant Controller to join our finance team in a fully onsite role. The position focuses on day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger, while supporting the Controller with accurate financial statements and reports.

Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, and cost accounting collaboration with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies.
• Prepare audit work papers and coordinate with external auditors.
• Support tax return preparation and compliance with tax regulations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
• Mentor and train accounting staff; perform financial analysis as requested by management.

Description

Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.

Support the Controller in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support management decision-making.

Oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts and monitor cash flow.

Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate project cost accounting and reporting.

Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.

Manage the preparation of audit work papers and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.

Provide support in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.

Mentor and train accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.

Perform financial analysis and reporting as requested by upper management.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
