Job summary

Kavaliro is seeking an Assistant Controller to support a client in Orlando, FL. The role focuses on ensuring GAAP-compliant financial reporting, overseeing general ledger, payroll, and AP functions, and supporting audits in a healthcare setting.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (CPA or MBA preferred) and 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with strong Excel skills and experience with Oracle/Lawson/SAP. On-site employment with US-based benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software (Oracle, Lawson, SAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• SEC reporting experience is required.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid billing and reimbursement preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care financial operations preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards preferred.

Responsibilities

Overview And Summary

The Assistant Controller supports the financial operations of the organization by overseeing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting strategic decision-making in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Pay: $125,000 - 140,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and healthcare-specific financial regulations.
• Support audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors.

Required Education And/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or a regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software (Oracle, Lawson, SAP, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• SEC reporting experience is required.
• Technical accounting experience.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid billing and reimbursement preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care financial operations preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance standards preferred.
