Job summary

StyleCraft Homes is seeking a highly skilled, full-time Assistant Controller to oversee accounting reporting and compliance for the company. You will manage financial records, the accounting team, and close processes while collaborating with operations and senior leadership.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of accounting experience with at least 3 years in accounting management, a CPA or CPA candidacy, and strong cost accounting and internal controls knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• 6+ years of professional accounting experience with at least 3 years in accounting management or assistant controller level.
• Strong cost accounting, internal control, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities, with cross-functional collaboration experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office, ERP and reporting tools; willingness to adopt new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting functions and ensure timely, GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Manage budgeting, cash flow projections and banking relationships.
• Ensure tax compliance (Real estate/property and income).
• Lead month/quarter/year-end close processes and manage the accounting team.

StyleCraft is a group of local, family-owned companies. Our Mission is to Create Communities that Inspire People to Live Up. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated, full-time Assistant Controller to join our team to oversee accounting reporting and compliance for StyleCraft.

The Assistant Controller will play a critical role in managing the financial health of our company. You will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting that will support decision-making. This role will involve managing financial records, the accounting team, and processes, while working closely with operations management and other departments.

Responsibilities:

• Financial & Cost Accounting Reporting to industry and GAAP standards.
• Develop & implement policy/procedures/internal controls and ensure adherence.
• Budget setting/monitoring.
• Compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Tax (Real estate/property/income).
• Cash Flow Projections (short and medium term) and Bank Loans.
• Month/Quarter/Year end close process.
• Manage Accounting team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required. Post graduate education and/or certification preferred. CPA or CPA candidate required.
• 6+ years professional accounting experience with at least 3 years of Accounting Management and/or at Assistant Controller level.

• Possess strong cost accounting, internal control, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate a high level of communication, interpersonal and leadership skills with previous experience managing/leading teams effectively including working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Requires a strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including MS Excel, SharePoint, CoPilot/AI; as well as other ERP and reporting systems with an eagerness to adopt and integrate new technologies into accounting and operations.
• Self-directed with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in construction or real estate is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting compliance requirements.
