Job description

Assistant Controller opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented automotive professional at a high-volume, domestic dealership in Irving, Texas.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Controller processes and generates financial data for all dealership departments, which together represent the accurate financial condition of the business. Providing accurate reporting to the Controller and General Manager. Will be responsible for accounting office and administrative functions.

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversight of the accounting office personnel along with all aspects of the general ledger and financial statements
  • Responsible for adherence to dealership policies and internal control structure
  • Proactively manage and safeguard company assets
  • Actively manage expense structure and vendors
  • Prepare the daily, weekly, and monthly reports required by the management team
  • Work with the management staff of the dealership to review the data and prepare reports/analysis as necessary
  • Analyzes and organizes office operations and procedures.
  • Prepares a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer's format and time frame
  • Controls all posted documents, including time records, vehicle deals, commissions, and additions and changes to inventory
  • Prepares daily bank deposit and cash report
  • Compiles information and prepares reports as requested by Controller and/or General Manager

Qualifications:

  • Must have strong CDK DMS experience
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented and enthusiastic presence in a team environment with the ability to lead and influence others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – particularly excel
  • Ability to be analytical, problem solve and multi-task
  • Experience building strong teams
  • Consistent and stable work history
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
