A growing financial services firm in Houston is seeking an Assistant Controller to manage a team and oversee key accounting operations. Candidates must possess a CPA and have a minimum of 7 years of professional experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role. Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr

Location: Houston, TX

We are working with a dynamic, profitable, and growing company in their search for an Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will manage and mentor a team of professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of professionals
• Oversight of fixed assets, G/L, and cash
• Internal controls
• Assist with annual audit and tax filings requests
• Special projects and other responsibilities as they arise

Key requirements

• CPA
• MBA and / or Master of Accountancy highly desirable
• Hands-on general accounting experience with strong GAAP
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with 3+ years of managerial/supervisory experience
• Good tenure and career progression
• Manufacturing or related field experience is highly preferred
• Public accounting experience is highly desirable
• Experience with ERP systems is required; experience with MS Dynamics is highly desirable
• High integrity and strong work ethic with the ability to work in a dynamic environment
