Job summary

StaffBuffalo in Getzville, NY is seeking an Assistant Controller to own complex accounting processes, partner with leadership, and directly impact the company’s financial health as it grows.

Reporting to the Controller, you will manage month‑end close, reconciliations, foreign currency and inventory accounting, prepare bank and tax filings, support internal controls, and drive continuous process improvements in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of public accounting and/or industry accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with IBM i (AS400) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting activities, month-end close, and reconciliations.
• Manage foreign currency, inventory accounting, hedge activity, and tolling transactions.
• Approve accounts payable vouchers and support cash posting and AR analysis.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, GL reconciliations, and assist month-end close.
• Prepare sales tax filings, government reports, and monthly banking packages.
• Review sales contract pricing and support inventory and warehouse reconciliations.
• Support internal controls, compliance initiatives, and process improvements.

Assistant Controller

Overview

StaffBuffalo is working with a dynamic, global organization to hire an Assistant Controller in Getzville, NY. Working closely with the Controller, you'll play a key role in financial reporting, month‑end close, reconciliations, foreign currency accounting, inventory accounting, and maintaining strong internal controls.

• Prepare bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and assist with month‑end close.
• Prepare sales tax filings, government reports, and monthly banking packages.
• Review sales contract pricing and support inventory and warehouse reconciliations.
• Support internal controls, compliance initiatives, and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field required.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with IBM i (AS400) is a plus.
