Job Summary
The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient management of the club's financial operations. This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including journal entries, accounts receivable and payable, and general ledger maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Performs general accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
- Prepares periodic (monthly) Journal entries.
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger [i.e. Balance sheet reconciliation, etc.].
- Codes invoice, sets up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifying deposits, and addressing inquiries from banks.
- Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4 - 6 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software preferably
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
