Job summary

On-Target Supplies & Logistics, Ltd. in Dallas, TX seeks an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.

You will lead GAAP-compliant multi-entity accounting and assist with month-end close and intercompany allocations. You will partner with operations to drive cost insights, maintain internal controls, and prepare timely financial statements across entities while supporting audits and ERP improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and combined financial statements
• Experience supporting close, audits, and financial reporting in dynamic environments
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, large datasets)
• ERP experience (NetSuite, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar)
• Experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or outsourced services a plus

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Close: oversight of general ledger accuracy across entities
• Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries
• Prepare and review combined financial statements, including intercompany allocations
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and issue resolution
• Assist in improving month-end close processes, timelines, and controls
• Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning across operating entities
• Monitor budgeting vs. actual; provide actionable insights
• Cash Management & Working Capital: cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
• Support banking relationships, covenants, and lender requests
• Internal controls, audits & tax filings; interface with external auditors
• ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, and automation initiatives
• Provide leadership and coaching to accounting staff; backup Controller
