General Summary
Under the direction of the CMM, this role involves coordinating and facilitating all phases of operation and maintenance work, including providing operations management support and service order management. Additionally, the position serves as the Quality Control Manager, leading the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Control Plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate all maintenance work efforts under the CMM's guidance.
- Assign tasks, track workload and productivity, and review work schedules to ensure proper coverage.
- Support the CMM in preparing status updates for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Participate in management meetings, providing relevant input.
- Review inventories and ensure accuracy of asset lists.
- Support safety compliance in coordination with the Site Safety and Health Officer.
- Manage service orders, including research, planning, and coordination to meet objectives within budget and time constraints.
- Review project quotes, establish work plans, and coordinate staffing, including subcontractors if applicable.
- Lead project meetings with stakeholders, develop market research for bids, and negotiate with contractors.
- Oversee project progress, develop reports, and adjust plans as needed.
- Coordinate with base authorities for permits and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and oversee the quality assurance program, including inspections and documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation of work orders and preventive maintenance.
- Perform periodic reviews of the quality control program and suggest improvements.
- Conduct inspections, collect data, and fill in for the CMM during absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Advanced knowledge of medical research facility maintenance, including disciplines like mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.
- Minimum of two years' experience in quality control and facility management in health facilities.
- Experience with federal government design, construction policies, and standards such as DoD MTF standards, NFPA, EPA, NIH, CDC.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and PPE procedures, with ability to conduct safety investigations.
- 1-3 years' experience in healthcare or medical research construction, renovation, and project management, including supervisory roles.
Licenses, Education, and Certification
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Certifications such as ASHE CHFM, ASHE Certified Healthcare Constructor, PMP are desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a good record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Work Environment
- Work involves indoor and outdoor tasks, with exposure to hazardous materials and conditions requiring protective gear.
- Physical demands include climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
- Must pass background checks and obtain security clearance.
