Your Next Career Opportunity – Assistant Construction Supervisor
The primary function of this position is to assist with the management of the construction/colocation process to produce quality sites to customer specifications within the timeframe and budget required by planning, coordinating, and managing multiple projects. This position is also responsible for assisting with the coordination and supervision of field team members and subcontractors. Acts as a company representative to clients with responsibility for ensuring all deliverables are clearly communicated to internal teams and met within budget and timeframes specified.
What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, scheduling, prioritizing, and organizing material deliveries, equipment, manpower, and subcontractors to ensure effective and efficient project progress. Consider company priorities and customer expectations in all decisions.
- Assist in the pre-construction process to properly identify site-level scope of work required by the client.
- Attend bid walks and submit documentation to management as required.
- Facilitate effective communication within construction services and all other applicable departments. Maintain open communication with internal/external field team members and respond or convey needs and concerns.
- Assist with compiling job-level information and financial summaries for Work in Progress reviews.
- Ensure all appropriate building permits, NTP(s), and lease approvals have been received prior to construction.
- Coordinate delivery of material and equipment to sites.
- Update project databases.
- Remain knowledgeable on customer specifications to produce quality sites that meet or exceed expectations.
- Assign, review, and provide feedback to subcontractors and crews on closeout documentation.
- Track assets and inventory as needed.
- Maintain and enforce SBA and OSHA safety practices. Stop work if unsafe conditions exist and participate in safety meetings.
- Ensure work progresses on schedule. Notify management of issues affecting schedule, quality, or budget. Perform quality checks and correct deficiencies before demobilization.
- Provide documentation for project deliverables.
- Assist with permit pickup, inspections, and closure.
- Prepare reports, summaries, proposals, and correspondence.
- Assist Project Controls with tasks like reviewing POs, billing, change orders, budgets, and collections.
- Confirm hours worked and work performed by employees and subcontractors.
- Review purchase requests for accuracy and track pending requests.
- Support onboarding and training of new hires.
- Develop and build subcontractor relationships.
- Perform other duties to ensure safety, quality, and timely project completion.
What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
- H.S. Diploma/GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 1+ years of construction or equipment installation experience; wireless telecommunications experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%. Evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid government-issued driver’s license.
- Preferred certifications: OSHA 10Hr, CDL, First Aid, CPR, Forklift.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Occasional standing, walking, climbing, and lifting (up to 70 lbs).
- Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, hazards, and working at heights.
