Job summary

Wells is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Naperville, IL to support precast/prestressed concrete projects from award to closeout. You will help manage scope, schedule, and budget, oversee financial tracking and change orders, and maintain clear communication with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field with 3+ years of APM or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated detail orientation, organization, and strong communication.
• Proven problem-solving abilities and proactive project support.
• Proficiency in MS Office; SketchUp a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure schedule adherence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial tracking, risk management, and client relations from pre-construction through closeout.
• Support communication between all project stakeholders to ensure alignment with project plans.
• Help ensure contract compliance and timely processing of change orders.
• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and tracking progress.
• Support project meetings, coordination, and communication of key updates.
• Assist with project closeout, documentation, and post-project reviews.
• Maintain accurate use of project management software and systems.
• Transition into a full Project Manager role within an expected timeframe.
