Job summary

County Prestress in Westmont, Illinois is seeking a Project Engineer to support project execution from presale review through erection. You will work with Project Managers and Coordinators, providing essential engineering services and ensuring accurate designs and timely submittals.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree (civil/structural preferred) and 1–5 years in precast design, with emphasis on code-compliant calculations and collaboration across drafting, production, and field teams.

Qualifications

• 4-year engineering degree required; masters in civil/structural engineering preferred.
• 1–5 years of precast design experience or equivalent in building construction.
• Engineer in Training certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with assigned projects and prepare designs for low-complexity components.
• Develop frames, components, and connections for low-complexity projects.
• Prepare calculations for submittals per codes and regulations.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to ensure accurate erection drawings and scheduling.
• Act as liaison between County Prestress & Precast, contractor, owner, architect, and erector.
• Stay current with codes, technology, and precast/prestressed industry.
• Develop tools to improve calculation efficiency in the Engineering Department.
