Job Description

Synergy, a leading commercial real estate firm with over 8 million square feet under management, is seeking a full-time Assistant Construction Project Manager to support our team in managing large-scale construction projects across our portfolio. The responsibilities include assisting in pre-construction planning, on-site documentation and direction, and project close-out activities related to building repositioning, tenant improvements, and capital projects. All work will adhere to company policies, project documents, and governmental regulations.

The Synergy team manages over 60 properties throughout greater Boston, specializing in Property Management, Building Engineering, Accounting, and Construction. We aim to provide top-tier real estate services through operational efficiency, customization, and tenant engagement, while also giving back to our local communities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in overseeing all phases of project construction, including estimating, bidding, negotiation, contract management, scheduling, cost tracking, and close-out.
  • Work closely with tenants to deliver quality improvements to office and retail spaces, coordinating tenant systems and FF&E, minimizing disruptions, and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate effectively with tenants, leasing agents, property managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, inspectors, and others, ensuring clear communication and project coordination.
  • Provide direction to contractors and service providers, interpret specifications and policies, and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
  • Help develop and maintain a network of qualified service providers and grow the vendor bid pool.
  • Follow up on outstanding issues and properly close out projects and tasks.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports for projects.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in managing construction permits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Present complex information clearly to clients and leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in construction.
  • 3-5 years of on-site construction management experience, including coordination of trades to deliver scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Experience with trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling systems is preferred.
  • Strong reporting, multitasking, problem-solving skills; proactive and deadline-oriented.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and MS Project.
