Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in the United States is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support day-to-day EPC project execution across multiple industries. You will work with the Construction Project Manager and team on safety, quality, schedule, cost controls, procurement, and field coordination.

The role requires collaboration with clients, development of execution plans, and support for bid processes, subcontracts, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Construction, CM, Engineering or related field; 3 years of relevant construction experience required.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational abilities.
• Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Multiple years of experience on construction sites or program management across aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, transportation, or water.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Construction Project Manager and EPC Project Manager with day-to-day management of safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, and field activities.
• Collaborate with project team to manage Safety & Health performance and interface with client on proposals and project items.
• Develop and implement Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Safety & Health Plan, Subcontracting Plan, Staffing Plan, and Procurement Plan.
• Draft and negotiate prime/subcontract terms, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Support project planning for mobilization/demobilization and secure permits.
• Assist with bidding, RFPs, scope of work, and contract documents for subcontractor/client selection.
• Monitor project specifications, drawing releases, design changes, RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes.
• Support cost reporting, scheduling, WBS, project setup/closeout, and field progress tracking.
• Prepare status updates, risks, schedule, costs, and cash flows for meetings; distribute minutes.
