  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, HCBS Waiver requirements, and agency policies.
  • Maintain oversight of health, safety, and emergency procedures.

Summary:

The Assistant Community Support Supervisor (ACSS) is responsible for the leadership and daily operations of the Day Habilitation Program(s) that provide support to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The ACSS facilities person-centered planning, coordinates individualized services, and supervises Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to ensure high-quality service delivery. The ACSS promotes independence and community inclusion for individuals served while ensuring compliance with New York State regulations and agency policies.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Day Habilitation Program services to ensure support is person-centered, respectful, and aligned with each person’s goals, preferences, and strengths.

Promote choice, independence, self-determination, and meaningful community participation for people supported.

Ensure daily programming supports skill development, social connections, employment readiness, and overall well-being.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized habilitation plans in accordance with OPWDD regulations and person-centered planning standards.

Collaborate and clearly communicate with supported people, families, service coordinators, and community partners to ensure coordinated, responsive support.

Provide direct support or program coverage when necessary.

Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations, HCBS Waiver requirements, and agency policies.

Maintain oversight of health, safety, and emergency procedures.

Ensure accurate, timely, and person-centered documentation of services and support.

Consistently maximize enrollment and daily attendance across day services.

Participate in required meetings, training, and agency initiatives.

Travel to programs, community events, and meetings as needed.

Follow incident reporting procedure as per OPWDD to prevent abuse and neglect

Perform other duties as assigned by Community Support Supervisor

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of related experience

Experience working with the IDD populationREQUIRED.

Experience working in a Day Program preferred

Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License & satisfy criteria to be a driver for NeuSpark PDS

Physical Requirements:

Strength and endurance for tasks like lifting, transferring, and assisting with personal care (bathing dressing).

Ability tobend,crouch,kneel, and stand for long periods.

Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds at a time

Stamina for CPR, physical interventions, and driving/transporting clients with mobility needs, all while maintaining a safe environment and responding to emergencies
