Job summary

Simpson Housing is seeking an Assistant Community Manager for Brooking Square Village Apartments & Townhomes in Charleston, SC. This role oversees on-site staff and helps attract residents to our class A community.

You will manage day-to-day property operations, monitor budgets, and ensure timely deposits while delivering outstanding customer service to residents and building strong relationships across the team.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of multifamily property management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with property management software (Yardi) preferred.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Manage the property and on-site staff in the absence of the Community Manager.
• Tour and present the community to prospective residents and assist in selecting apartments.
• Oversee revenue and expenses to meet budget under Community Manager guidance.
• Ensure accuracy of bank deposits and administer charges for late/NSF payments.
• Maintain resident records and post rents, deposits, and fees; handle A/P as directed.
• Issue notices for late payments, evictions, or NSF checks.
• Monitor market trends and update property comparables.
• Coordinate with maintenance on service requests and follow up with residents.
• Build strong resident relationships through outstanding customer service.
