Job summary

Shea Properties is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to support the Community Manager in managing an apartment community in California. This on-site role oversees leasing office operations, data input, and coordination with leasing and maintenance teams to meet budgets and occupancy goals.

Qualifications

• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of accounting principles and budgeting processes.
• Basic marketing concepts and data analysis.
• Customer service experience in property management or related fields.
• Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
• Proficient with MS Office; Yardi and Yieldstar experience preferred.
• Experience managing staff and leading by example.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum 2 years property management experience, including management level.

Responsibilities

• Oversee leasing office operations and data input.
• Direct leasing staff and assist in marketing strategies.
• Review move-in applications and ensure Fair Housing compliance.
• Coordinate with Leasing and Maintenance for move-ins and pricing.
• Prepare weekly reports and manage leasing paperwork.
• Assist in budgeting and financial reporting for the property.
