Role Overview

The Assistant Community Manager oversees daily operations and financial functions of the housing community under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing rent collection, financial reporting, personnel, leasing, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. You will also supervise staff and ensure resident satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Management
  • Post all payments and income accurately and timely.
  • Process and reconcile account receivables daily.
  • Follow up on bad debts, prepare late notices, and handle evictions.
  • Assist in meeting budgeted revenues and expenses.
  • Post charges to resident accounts and bill utilities where applicable.
  • Perform end-of-month closing and reporting.
  • Maintain organized records and audit resident files.
  • Manage move-out charges, statements, and security deposits.
Personnel Management
  • Attend onsite daily.
  • Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop staff.
  • Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Promote team harmony and performance.
  • Manage leasing activities and resident retention programs.
  • Show, lease, and move in prospective residents.
Administrative Management
  • Ensure excellent customer service and timely maintenance responses.
  • Maintain property appearance and coordinate repairs.
  • Assist in supervising operational functions.
  • Manage resources and vendor relations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s preferred, or relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in onsite property management software and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular standing, sitting, moving, and occasional physical tasks including climbing and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in various environments and conditions, including outdoor and confined spaces, and work overtime as needed.
Additional Information

Salary Range: $17 - $21 per hour. We consider various factors in compensation decisions, including skills, experience, and certifications. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, bonuses, paid sick days, and holidays.
