Summary of Position

Are you a dynamic and experienced property management professional looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact? Related Affordable is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Community Manager to support the daily operations of our 138-unit LIHTC affordable housing community, Elmwood Apartments in Buffalo, NY. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Community Manager to maintain a well-functioning, welcoming environment for our residents. Your responsibilities will encompass administrative tasks, resident relations, and ensuring compliance with affordable housing regulations.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist in managing leasing activities, marketing efforts, resident recertifications, and general administrative duties to ensure efficient community operations.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, aid in rent collection, and assist in managing delinquencies to maintain the financial health of the community.
  • Address resident concerns promptly and professionally, fostering a positive living environment. Assist in organizing resident appreciation and retention events to build a strong community spirit.
  • Ensure adherence to affordable housing program requirements (e.g., HDC, HCR, HUD, LIHTC) by maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance audits.
  • Collaborate with maintenance staff to ensure timely and high-quality property upkeep, contributing to a safe and pleasant living environment.
  • Assist in preparing reports to monitor community performance and identify areas for improvement.

Compensation
  • $25.00 - $26.00 / hour
  • Annual Performance Bonus

This range is a general guideline and reflects expected pay at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, location, and responsibilities. The position may also be eligible for performance bonuses and comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Final offers will be based on a thorough assessment of the candidate's background and the role's requirements.

Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing programs (e.g., LIHTC) and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with RealPage, OneSite, JD Edwards, or similar property management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service.
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for creating positive living experiences.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues professionally.
