Role Overview

The Assistant Community Manager oversees daily operations and financial functions of the housing community under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing rent collections, staff supervision, leasing, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety, and fair housing laws.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Management
  • Post all payments and income accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile daily account receivables.
  • Follow up on bad debts, prepare late notices, and assist with evictions.
  • Help meet budgeted revenues and expenses.
  • Post charges to resident accounts and bill utilities where applicable.
  • Complete end-of-month closing procedures and reports.
  • Maintain organized records and audit resident files.
  • Manage move-out charges, security deposits, and refunds.
Personnel Management
  • Attend onsite daily.
  • Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop staff.
  • Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Promote team harmony and performance.
  • Implement leasing strategies and marketing plans.
  • Handle resident concerns and develop retention programs.
  • Show, lease, and facilitate resident move-ins.
Administrative Management
  • Ensure excellent customer service and timely maintenance responses.
  • Maintain property appearance and supervise repairs.
  • Assist in supervising all operational functions.
  • Manage resources, equipment, and supplies efficiently.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s preferred or 2 years industry experience.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of onsite software.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit, move, and lift up to 25 lbs. regularly.
  • Work may involve outdoor environments and hazardous chemicals.

Asset Living offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, bonuses, and paid time off. Salary range: $20-$22 per hour.
