Role Overview

The Assistant Community Manager oversees daily operations and financial functions of the housing community under the supervision of the Community Manager. Key responsibilities include managing rent collection, financial reporting, personnel, leasing, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with policies, safety, and fair housing guidelines. This role is essential in managing property performance and resident satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Management
  • Post all payments and income accurately and timely.
  • Process and reconcile account receivables daily.
  • Monitor and follow up on bad debt, including late notices and evictions.
  • Assist in meeting budgeted revenues and expenses.
  • Post charges to resident accounts and bill utilities where applicable.
  • Perform end-of-month closing procedures and reporting.
  • Maintain organized records and audit resident files.
  • Post move-out charges, security deposits, and refunds.
Personnel Management
  • Attend onsite daily.
  • Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop staff using consistent techniques.
  • Ensure staff compliance and performance through ongoing training and leadership.
  • Promote a positive team environment.
  • Manage leasing activities, including follow-up, documentation, and reporting.
  • Implement marketing strategies and resident retention programs.
  • Show, lease, and move in prospective residents.
Administrative Management
  • Provide excellent customer service and monitor maintenance responsiveness.
  • Maintain property appearance and timely repairs through inspections.
  • Supervise operational functions and manage resources effectively.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2 years housing industry experience.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of onsite software.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Stationary and movement duties, including climbing ladders, working in various environments, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Availability for overtime, weekends, and emergencies.

Salary Range: $23 - $25 per hour.
