The Assistant Colorist at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar supports Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead to provide a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure. You will learn the services offered and work towards your next role. Passionate about beauty and hair color, you pride yourself on helping guests find the best color for them and executing their service with perfection.
The Madison Reed Assistant Colorist is the expert on consultations, hair care products, shampooing and conditioning, blowouts, the unlimited roots membership program, and subscriptions. You will learn and practice the services offered, connect with guests and team members to foster a friendly work environment, meet the demands of a busy day, keep the environment clean and organized, and support your colleagues. This role is in training for promotion to Licensed Colorist within 3-9 months. #livelifecolorfully
This role reports to the Manager and can be full or part-time depending on business needs. Availability at peak times is required to best serve guest needs.
Compensation: We aim to pay competitively, including base hourly pay, commission, and tips. In New York, Assistant Colorists can earn $20.50 - $29.50 per hour with an average of $25.50 per hour. Actual pay depends on performance, tenure, hours worked, and other factors.
Physical Demands: Standing and walking for over four hours, repetitive bending and twisting, manipulating fingers and hands, reaching, and occasionally sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to ten pounds. Regular communication with guests is also required.
