Position Purpose

The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach supports student development and assists in the daily operations of the athletic department.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist the head coach with responsibilities.
• Follow NCAA and conference rules, report violations.
• Coaching: develop players, plan practices, monitor academic progress, ensure safety standards.
• Recruit student-athletes, communicate opportunities, and explain NCAA rules.
• Maintain professionalism and sportsmanship.
• Attend meetings and university functions.
• Drive university vehicles as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Job Requirements

• Education: Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience: Minimum four years playing or coaching.
• Skills: Organizational, compliance, supervisory, communication, interpersonal, goal-setting, computer literacy, and athletics knowledge.
• Physical: Verbal interaction, campus mobility, evening/weekend availability, flexibility.

Work Hours

Approximately 40 hours/week, flexible as needed. Hybrid or remote work considered if effective off-site.

Special Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Travel between locations and to off-site meetings.
