Pay Range Information

Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate ofthe compensation range for this position. This range takes intoaccount a variety of factors that are considered in makingcompensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and otherbusiness and organizational needs. Salary offers are determinedbased on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, aswell as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipatedpay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary

Assist the head coach with responsibilities associated with one ormore Chapman University Division III athletics teams. Dutiesinclude coaching, recruiting, fundraising and other duties asassigned in support of the athletics department. Flexible scheduleand some travel may be required. Successful candidate is requiredto abide by the rules and regulations established by the Universityand NCAA . This position will have campus security authority ( CSA) related responsibilities under the Jeanne Clery Disclosure ofCampus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, which is afederal law requiring disclosure of information about crimes on andaround campus.

Responsibilities
Team Practice Preparation
  • Assist in planning and organizing daily practice sessions
  • Develop practice plans in collaboration with head coach
  • Set up and break down equipment and training stations
  • Ensure athletes are prepared physically and mentally forpractice
Game Day Coaching
  • Provide feedback and instruction to athletes duringcompetition
  • Maintain communication with coaching staff
  • Ensure team is prepared with necessary equipment andmaterials
Recruiting
  • Identify and evaluate potential recruits in accordance withteam needs and program goals
  • Assist head coach in maintaining recruiting database andcommunication records
Other Duties as Assigned
  • Support team operations such as travel planning, equipmentinventory, and facility scheduling
  • Assist with team events, community outreach, and fundraisinginitiatives
  • Perform administrative tasks related to program compliance andcommunication
  • Maintain a positive and professional environment that supportsstudent-athlete development
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in providing administrative support in aprofessional office.
  • Relevant playing and/or coaching experience at the collegelevel.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple,competing tasks and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectivelycommunicate with a diverse community of students, faculty, coaches, administrators and staff
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency with word-processing software and databasemanagement
