Job summary

Pacific Ridge School seeks a Middle School Robotics Assistant Coach to support the SeaPerch robotics program for grades 6-8. The role includes leading team meetings on campus, guiding students in robot design, and preparing for competitions throughout the season.

The ideal candidate demonstrates leadership, initiative and strong organizational and communication skills, with a passion for STEM education and experience mentoring middle school students in robotics.

Qualifications

• Leadership skills, initiative and ability to take on increasing responsibilities.
• Experience with robotics, electronics and general building experience.
• Experience with digital fabrication tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters and/or CNC machines.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Passion for working with secondary school age children in STEM settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead team meetings on campus from October through March on Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm.
• Attend three Saturday competitions (two in March and one in April).
• Support teams in the robot design process and provide feedback.
• Supervise and maintain a safe and organized workshop environment.
• Coach students on team dynamics and leadership.

SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips students with the resources they need to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).
